About The Artists The 2009 - 2011 “Artists of the Year” for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau Kathleen Patrick … is a highly collected artist with both corporate and private art collectors in Chicago and around the world. She has been represented by several major galleries in Southern California and has exhibited her work in the Chicago metropolitan area for over 15 years. Ms. Patrick’s works appear in the collections of Gucci, Motorola, The University of Illinois and The University of Wisconsin, The Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau, The National Association of Realtors to name a few. One of her Chicago skylines was selected for The Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up” mural as a continuous part of the set. Her works hang in the Sears Tower, the John Hancock and many other major buildings in the Chicago area. Her work was selected by the U.S. State Department to be shown with the works of such notable Chicagoans as Frank Lloyd Wright. She includes among her influences the color and freedom of Marc Chagall, the energy and passion of Van Gogh. Ms. Patrick is best known for her urban scenes, whether wildly colored, energy filled abstracts or highly imaginative Chicago skylines and cityscapes. Her work strikes a balance between likeness and abstraction. These highly imaginative works often contain some pictorial reference to Chicago and other cities but often exhibit whole areas which can be read as abstracts. This creates a scale and continuum of abstraction/representation intrinsic to her work. Joseph Catanzaro …is the recipient of several college scholarships and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. His work has been highlighted in several one-person shows in the Midwest and numerous international juried shows. Mr. Catanzaro’s works are in private and corporate collections around the world. Painting originally in oils, the artist spent 5 years researching and practicing the techniques of artists such as DaVinci and Rembrandt. Working with transparent glazes, he fastidiously worked on each painting for months, developing images layer upon layer, and creating glowing rich color. He brings these same techniques into his paintings of Chicago. Characteristic to all his work is a simplified graphic quality and a quiet reflective mood. His recent body of work, whether cityscapes or human figures is uniquely impressionist , sometimes utilizing no more than a stylized silhouette. In addition to creating paintings of Chicago, both artists continuously work in a wide variety of highly personalized styles, creating from and exploring their innermost muses, fancies and emotions. About Our Giclee Prints on Canvas Our wall art prints (Giclees) deliver a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclee (French for "to spray") is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the canvas surface. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, our giclee prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. All of our giclees come stretched and ready to hang with the image continuing around all four sides. Our canvas wrap giclees can be ordered this way or can be enhanced by the artist. In enhancing the giclee print, the same lush colors and heavy textures are painted onto the Fine Art Giclee's canvas. Afterwards, a final varnish is applied by hand by the artist. |
